Primaryfrench.net is the brainchild of Connie Hurd.

Mme Hurd obtained her degree in French from the California State University, San José and the Institut pour les Étrangers, Université de Marseille.. Mme Hurd has taught French and English as a Foreign/Second Language at state and private schools in California, Hong Kong and England. She has an additional California State qualification as Language Development Specialist.

Mme Hurd has taught at the Lincoln Minster Prep School for 11 years now, teaching French full time to children from ages 3 to 11.

Mr Hurd is the webmaster; he does all the web work, composes the English text, does all the graphics and is to blame for any and all mistakes on this site. He also has to work out ways to put Mme Hurd's ideas and activities onto the internet. He has no qualifications in computers, technology, graphics or cooking.

Our aim is to provide a website with activities to help students aged about 6 to 11 learn and revise their French.

The website has been virtually untouched since it was initially launched in 2004 due to time constraints: who has time to handle a full teaching load and to keep a website up to date?

HOWEVER, changes are anticipated and we hope to start working on updates and improvements during the summer of 2008

We'd like to be able to have all kinds of super animated activities but there are two problems with that:.
firstly the cost of the software to create them and the time involved. We work from home, we don't have a fancy graphics studio and we've never charged a single penny (you'll note that we don't sell anything on this site yet and that we have no adverts). Secondly, the time that it takes super graphics to load. We've noticed that even with a broadband connection flash player based games and activities can be slow and if you the user don't have a huge amount of spare memory this can slow your computer down and cause problems.
